The City of Marine on St Croix, in partnership with Paul Creager & Square Lake Film and Music Festival, proudly present a magical night of family fun in beautiful Burris Park!
Join neighbors, friends, and family of all ages for an outdoor COVID-aware showing of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory playing on the big screen between two of our towering silver maple trees.
The Marine General Store will be providing theater-style food, snacks, treats, and beverages for your viewing pleasure.
Event Timeline:
Friday, October 30 ("rain" date: Saturday, Oct. 31)
6 p.m. Grab your spot and set out a blanket and/or chairs in Burris Park at the COVID-aware designated locations. Dress for the weather and stay hygge (cozy)!
6-6:45 p.m. Support local and patronize the Marine General Store pop-up with hot food, popcorn, snacks, treats/candy, and beverages.
6:45 p.m. Once nature turns down the lights enjoy the classic 1971 American musical fantasy film directed by Mel Stuart and starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It is an adaptation of the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
Once the movie is complete, please clean up your area so we can leave Burris Park better than we found it.
*Event is weather permitting. In the event of rain (or snow?!) we will postpone to the following evening (Saturday, October 24th)
**We will have seating precautions in place that follow best practices instituted by the Minnesota Orchestra for outdoor events. The General Store has committed to preparation and packaging that limits exposure and handling.
