Community Tree Planting May 9 - Come Joine Us!

The City of Marine will be planting 30 trees up In Jackson Meadow on city land -- we would love your help!  20 Oak trees will be planted in three groups to re-establish patches of oak savannah within the North Meadow prairie. Oak savannahs are characterized by widely spaced oak trees and have prairie-like ground layer vegetation. In addition, 10 pagoda dogwood trees will also be planted.  This planting is funded by a three-year, Department of Natural Resources Conservation Partners Legacy Grant that was awarded to the City in 2025. 

 

Time: 10-1pm. Stop by anytime!

Place: Park up in Jackson Meadow anywhere near 2101 Jackson Circle..you will see the trailhead into the North Meadow!

Things to Bring: gloves, shovel, tick protection, water.

Please come for 1-3 hours and plant trees for bird and insect habitat!
