Canadian wildfires trigger air quality alert, burning restrictions across Minnesota

Due to wildfire smoke, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert and the DNR has suspended open burning through June 4 at noon.

The Air Quality Alert has been extended through noon, Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 for all counties in Minnesota. All permit burning is suspended. Campfires are allowed but discouraged.

The burning permit restriction map will remain set at Restricted-No Activations due to Air Quality Alert (AQA) until Wednesday, June 4th at noon and will be adjusted if the alert expires earlier or is extended.
