Xcel Energy Moving Lines Underground

Xcel Energy has requested right-of-way permits from the City of Marine to begin burying their electrical wires. In response to City Administrator Lynette Peterson's inquiry about removal of obsolete poles, Xcel said they will coordinate with other utility companies to have their lines buried as well. For stub poles, Xcel will put in a request for the other utility companies to transfer and remove their lines as necessary, then Xcel will remove the old poles while new ones are installed. Administrator Peterson requested and has recieved a $5,000 bond from Scel as part of the permit authorization.
