Beauty in Every Season
Late Autumn in Marine — Through the Eyes of a Painter
In October of 2015, local painter and fly fisherman Bob White was asked by the BBC to help them film a documentary about who he is, what he does, where he lives, and how he got to this place.
"Painting this landscape in the transition between fall and winter," he says in the film, "is all about capturing the subtle grays and browns, the reflection on iron-colored water, and the skeletalness of the landscape. You can actually see the folds of the earth. You can see what's revealed once the leaves are gone. That's the beauty of painting a landscape in Minnesota."
We hope you’ll enjoy this short film and appreciate what makes the people and place of Marine on St. Croix special.
